For the last year I've hired a General Manager and stepped away from Video Husky. Here's how it all played out.
Video Husky: Day 1000
It has been more than a year since I have written a Video Husky update but 445 days later, things haven’t gone quite as smoothly as planned.
Altanx: End of an Era
I recently sold Altanx, the first company that I started nine years ago.
The business model was simple – sell high-quality sporting apparel at a reasonable price. While the company itself went through two different iterations (which you can read about in detail here and here), the aim of the company was always to provide a happy middle ground for customers who wanted nice sportswear without breaking the bank.
Video Husky: Day 555
Today marks 555 days since Video Husky started, just over 1.5 years! A lot has happened since the last update that I wrote about here, but instead of discussing Video Husky’s growth, I wanted to share a few personal lessons as well as what I’ll be focusing on in the next few months.
Video Husky: Day 366
Today marks Video Husky’s first year in business and it’s been quite the ride!
Having just closed out February, we’re now working with 51 active customers who bring in $23K in MRR (monthly recurring revenue) and a team of 17 who work hard every day to make sure that we’re able to not only deliver high quality videos on a regular basis, but more importantly, build relationships with our customers so that both parties can benefit together in the long run. It’s a long way from when we first began just over a year ago, and so I wanted to share a couple of the big lessons in leadership that I’ve learned through Video Husky during this time.
Video Husky: 187 days in
In the last update that I wrote about Video Husky, we were 98 days old and had just acquired our 10th customer. In my mind, this was a huge milestone because it represented both validation and product-market fit.
Video Husky: 98 days in.
A few days late, but on June 7th, we got our 10 customers for Video Husky (8 of whom were complete strangers)!
It’s something that I didn’t legitimately expect to happen (we only had 4 customers on May 30th), but things ramped up quickly and over the past couple of weeks we’ve delivered a good amount of work for our customers with 0 complaints.
Video Husky: Day 1
Today’s Day 1 of a new project that I’m running: Video Husky.
In the past few months, I’ve been working with my marketing clients and I’ve consistently run into the same problem again and again…
None of my clients knew how to edit a nice 30 promotion video to advertise on Facebook.
